Matthew Young

Matthew (Matt) is head of target data science, driving the vision, strategy, and execution across target identification and validation efforts.

Before joining Quotient, Matt was a Principal Staff Scientist at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, where he was the first member of a research group using multi-omics approaches to study childhood cancer. He led the data science for this group, developed multiple computational methods and led studies quantifying the developmental origins of hundreds of kidney cancers. Prior to the Sanger, Matt was a lead data scientist at Repositive where he pioneered methods to improve discovery and access to genomic data.

Matt holds a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Cambridge, a BS in Pure Mathematics and Physics, and a BA in History & Philosophy of Science from the University of Melbourne.
